Snow plowing: what actually happens during a storm

Task Monkey Services · July 25, 2026 · 5 min read

Snow service runs on a system, not on phone calls. Here is how ours works so you know what to expect before the first flake.

Trigger depth

Residential routes go out at 2 inches of accumulation. Commercial lots are cleared earlier and more often because foot traffic and liability do not wait.

Route order

Routes are built by geography, not by who called first. During a big storm you may see us twice: an early pass to keep the driveway usable and a final cleanup pass once the snow stops.

Salt and ice

Salting is priced separately because not every visit needs it. Freezing rain, packed snow and refreeze overnight are the situations where we strongly recommend it.

Help us help you

Move vehicles off the driveway when you can, mark fragile edges and planters before the first storm, and tell us where you want the snow piled. Those three things make every visit faster and cleaner.
