The fall cleanup checklist we actually use

Task Monkey Services · August 1, 2026 · 4 min read

A good fall cleanup is about setting up spring. This is the list our crews work through on a full property.

  1. Clear leaves off turf before they mat down and smother the crown.
  2. Cut the lawn slightly shorter on the final pass to reduce snow mold.
  3. Clean gutters and downspouts after the last leaves drop.
  4. Cut back perennials and trim shrubs that will hold heavy snow.
  5. Blow out beds, walks and patios so debris does not freeze in place.
  6. Aerate and overseed thin areas while soil is still warm.
  7. Mark driveway edges and beds for the plow crew.

Doing all seven in one visit costs less than splitting it up, and it means we already know your property before snow season starts.
